Overall Objective:
To improve the quality of health care and accelerate the adoption of independently acknowledged best practices through funding of independent medical education that improves patient care.
The program will focus on the practical application of policy, compliance with guidelines and regulations, and best practices of peers to ensure quality and consistency in the grants process
This program is designed to contribute to the overall knowledge base in medical education and continuing professional development and provide practical, actionable tools for the commercial supporter in the day to day evaluation and implementation of funding programs.
Educational Goals:
By attending this program, delegates will be able to enhance the effectiveness of the grants review, funding and evaluation process, including adherence to compliance and regulatory issues, by:
- Improving planning, budgeting and reconciliation of grant programs
- Implementing best practices to evaluate providers and the risk level of grants, and to differentiate and measure educational needs, methods and activity evaluation
- Understanding the role of the patient in the medical education process
- Evaluating and implementing quality performance improvement programs in managed markets as a component of medical education
- Determining the guideline distinctions between commercial support vs sponsorship
- Maintaining compliance on the federal, state and local level
